Preston North End manager Simon Grayson was proud of his players following a terrific 3-0 victory over Swindon Town at Deepdale.
Speaking to PNE Player after the annual lap of the pitch which follows the final home match, Grayson said: “It was almost the perfect afternoon in terms of the result, what we can affect, getting three goals, a cleansheet, a big crowd, a good atmosphere, it was a fantastic effort by the players.
“We were playing against a good footballing team who have the ball a lot, we had to be patient, we had to be disciplined, you have to make sure you go chasing the ball as a team or you get picked off – we did that a couple of times, but we got the goals at the perfect times.
“The first one gave us a big lift, the second one right on half-time, but most importantly the third one, when we have had two goal leads in the last three games nerves could creep in a little bit, but all-round a great day for us.”
