Simon Grayson: “We Haven’t Got Any Time To Wallow In Self-pity”

3 May 2015

Simon Grayson wants his players to embrace their second opportunity of earning Championship football, this time via the Play-Offs.

North End lost 1-0 against Colchester United at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, a result which means PNE face Chesterfield over two legs for a place at Wembley.

And the gaffer wants an immediate response from everyone.

“We have got to pick ourselves up very quickly,” he told PNE Player following the full-time whistle.

“We have emphasised to the players that we have now got a second opportunity to still get promoted into the Championship.

“Preparations start on Tuesday, games on Thursday then Sunday, so we haven’t got any time to wallow in self-pity or anything.

“We have got to be positive; we have got to be bright to go again on Thursday night at Chesterfield which will be a difficult game.

“We have still got a second opportunity to get promoted.”
