Voting is now open for the MBNA Northwest Football Awards as Joe Garner and Josh Brownhill look to follow up John Welsh's success of 2013.
After a terrific season in front of goal last campaign which saw Garner net 24 times, the Preston North End No.14 is up and running in a similar rich vein of form this time around, grabbing three goals in the Lilywhites’ opening two league games.
Another making a big impression is youngster Brownhill following his debut against Oldham Athletic in October 2013.
Since featuring that evening, the former PNE Academy graduate went on to make a total of 30 appearances last season, scoring three times, and he has shown no signs of letting up in 2014/15, scoring in friendlies against Liverpool and Burnley to name a few before starting all three competitive fixtures to date this term.
Garner has been nominated for 2014 League One Player of the Year – an award won by PNE midfielder Welsh in 2013, and Brownhill has been nominated for the Rising Star award.
