Alan Irvine visited St Gregory's Catholic Primary School yesterday where students fired questions at the Preston manager as part of his sponsorship package with Heathcotes.
During the special assembly, the Gaffer handed out tickets for January's home fixture against Doncaster Rovers to the children who were picked to ask their own written questions for the Scotsman.
Three students from every year group at the school were chosen to ask Irvine questions which they had written, ranging from 'who did you support as a youngster' to 'who is the best player in the world'.
Each student from the school also received a signed photograph of Irvine who was very impressed by the school and its students. Talking about his visit, the North End boss said:

"I was very impressed by the kids. I think that the school really deserve a lot of credit for the way that the kids behaved and for the questions that they asked. I'm told that they were questions that the kids thought up themselves, so I was very impressed.
"I think it is a very good way of doing the sponsorship. It's something that benefits the school or schools that are selected and I'm sure that Heathcotes will get something out of this as well."
Managing Director of Heathcotes, Gary Bates was at the front of the school hall with Irvine when he fielded the questions. Bates was also impressed with the children and the visit as a whole. He said:

"I think the kids had some great questions for Alan and I thought it was a great all round experience, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
"We have been involved with Preston North End for over 12 years and we're keen to do more things like this within the community."
