The World Cup may have been last summer and ended in the usual disappointment for England but Steve Cowell and his PNE Fans team are hoping to restore some pride when they take part in this summer's fan's equivalent.
The Fans World Cup kicks off on July 12th when 72 of the best fans teams from across England, Scotland and the rest of the world will battle it out over three days.
The PNE Fans team have already had a tremendous season having already won the 'Fans Football League' and reached the semi final of the Fans FA Cup but now they're looking to impress on the bigger stage:
"It's one hell of a competition," said the Preston boss Steve Cowell.
"We qualified through the group stages in the last two competitions but this year we are setting our sights on at least reaching the last sixteen.
"All the big teams are featured including Liverpool, Man Utd, Celtic, Arsenal. Inter Milan, F.C Lens from France and for the first time there will also be a team from Nigeria, so there are going to be lots of different styles of football which will be great."
There are plenty of other things to do besides play football with numerous beer tents and stall where fans and players alike can let their hair down between games, although Cowell admits he may have to keep a tighter rein on his players this time around:
"We seem to do well on the first day but we lose it a bit on the second day said the boss maybe I should put a curfew on the lads and stop them going out on the Saturday night!
"But that is what the tournament is all about it's just not about the football it's about creating friendships as well.
"Fans come along with their respective teams and everybody is wearing their club colours and it's just the most amazing spectacle.
"I thought I had seen everything in football but this is something else!
"We all feel so proud to be representing our club. It's like the real thing to us and my lads just can't wait to put on the famous white shirt of Preston."
Preston's opening game is against Crystal Palace on Saturday the 13th July, at Boddington Hall in Leeds.

North End take on Grimsby Town this weekend as part of their preparation, the game kicks off at 11.30am at the Police Headquarters in Hutton, after the Police kindly allowed full use of their facilities over the summer months.
