Murphy Makes Northwich Loan Move

Posted on: Thu 02 Aug 2007

First year pro Andrew Murphy will gain some valuable senior experience in the first half of this season following the completion of a loan move to Northwich Victoria.

The 18-year old keeper has signed a deal that takes him to the Victoria Stadium until January, and he'll be battling it out with the club's regular custodian Ben Connett for the right to be considered as manager Neil Redfearn's regular #1.

The England Under 20 star signed his first professional deal with North End in June, but has yet to make a first team appearance. He is currently ranked as the club's fourth choice keeper behind Wayne Henderson, Andy Lonergan and Chris Neal, and has established himself in the reserve and youth teams since switching to the club from Liverpool's Academy two years ago.
