Neals In For Reserves Against Rochdale
North End welcome back the two Neals - goalkeeper Chris and winger Lewis - as the reserves face their Rochdale counterparts at Deepdale this afternoon (2pm kick off).
A 3-2 win over Accrington Stanley gave Billy Barr's men their first three points of the season, following a disappointing 3-0 reverse in the season opener against 'Dale just a fortnight ago.
Strikers Karl Hawley and Neil Mellor retain their places up front after both found the back of the net last Tuesday, with both looking to prove they're worthy of a first team return.
Matt Hill captains the side once again but there are six changes to the starting lineup. The two Neals come in for Andy Lonergan and Simon Whaley, while Dylan Adams makes his first senior appearance as a professional after returning from injury - he replaces first team new boy Billy Jones. Sean St Ledger, Joe Anyinsah and Nathan Fairhurst complete the changes, coming in for Liam Chilvers, Danny Mayor and Phil Appiah respectively.
Mayor - who was particuarly impressive down the right flank last week - joins four youth team colleagues who remain on the bench from last week - Chris Thompson, Michael Aspin, Matty Mainwairing and Aaron McCarthy.
'Dale select a strong side, which includes no fewer than eight players with senior experience, including loyal midfield servant Gary Jones, former Scunthorpe defender Nathan Stanton and emerging striker Adam Le Fondre, who netted a 90th minute equaliser in the first team's stunning 3-2 victory over MK Dons at the weekend.
PNE: Chris Neal, Adams, Hill (capt), Collins, St Ledger, Jarrett, Anyinsah, Fairhurst, Hawley, Mellor, Lewis Neal. Subs: Mayor, Thompson, Aspin, Mainwairing, McCarthy.
