Final Score: Cardiff 2 PNE 2 (Fowler 28, 61; Davidson 50, 90)
90 + 12 mins: It's all over! Callum Davidson is the two goal hero - what an outing for North End. A superb confidence boost and Cardiff still haven't won at home this season. It could prove to be a very valuable point for the Lilywhites.
90 + 11 mins: Corner from Nicholls - hits a defender, PNE get another. However, Carter whips it in and a push causes the end of the attack.
90 + 8 mins: Play re-starts as the defender is carried off to cries of "One Roger Johnson". Cardiff will have to play this one out with ten men.
90 + 6 mins: Things aren't looking good for Johnson who's still receiving treatment. The fans try their best to amuse themselves, with the PNE following jumping around like crazed lunatics. One fella takes it too far and gets escorted away by a steward. He may miss a very tense finish.
90 + 2 mins: Concern for Cardiff, as Johnson lies flat out. He appeared to take a blow as the free kick struck the wall. Play is held up for several minutes as the stretcher team comes out to deal with him.
90 + 1 mins: Goal for PNE! Unbelievable! Callum Davidson scores from a superbly well worked free kick routine. Sedgwick, Nicholls and Carter stood over the ball, but they played it square and Davidson thundered in another long ranger from 25 yards. 2-2
90 mins: There will be a minimum of four minutes of added time. Hoping and praying, as North End win a free kick around 25-30 yards out.
88 mins: North End are running out of time... let's hope they aren't running out of ideas, but not much is going the way of the front men.
85 mins: Whittingham comes very close to a third Cardiff goal, but it takes a deflection and goes away for a corner. Johnson heads wide from the resulting Ledley delivery.
82 mins: Indeed not. Hasselbaink shoots narrowly wide.
81 mins: Substitution for Cardiff - a sigh of relief as two goal Robbie Fowler heads off and Steve Thompson comes on. That's not to say the change will diminish Cardiff's quality though.
80 mins: Cardiff now have the look of a side content to sit on what they've got and break at pace when the chance arises. Can PNE make the most of their deeper field position?
79 mins: 11,772 is given as the crowd, which for some reason the home fans believe is the fault of the fairly small PNE following. Until you can match our gates fellas, I'd probably take a closer look at yourselves.
78 mins: Substitution for PNE - attack attack attack seems to be the intention, as Lewis Neal comes on for Matty Hill. It means that Callum comes to left back, Carter goes into the centre and Neal will play on the left.
77 mins: Carter slots it through for Mellor but he doesn't really get it into his stride and shoots wide with his left foot.
76 mins: Substitution for Cardiff - Peter Whittingham replaces Trevor Sinclair, though an incorrect fourth official's board states they want to bring off Parry, who went at the interval.
74 mins: Hasselbaink produces a real glimpse of his class by turning Liam Chilvers inside out before Lonergan saves the day with a great block from a trademark bullet shot from a tight angle.
70 mins: Immediate impact for Mellor who twists and turns and wins a corner.
67 mins: Substitution for PNE - Neil Mellor comes on for Paul Gallagher, who hasn't recovered from that earlier knock.
67 mins: Gunter leaves Carter for dead and fires in a killer cross, but despite a firm header Ledley can't keep it on target.
64 mins: "Players run faster on Giovanni's pasta" is the bold statement on Ninian Park's video screen, accompanied by a not-cheesy-at-all picture of Giovanni with the Bluebirds squad in amongst a mound of pasta.
63 mins: The away side earn a corner of their own, but after Hawley headed back across goal from Carter's cross, no-one could stick a head or a boot on it to turn it in.
61 mins: Goal for Cardiff! Did I mention that Cardiff had a corner? Ledley took it, and Fowler headed it low into the net from about eight yards out. Deja vu. 1-2
60 mins: PNE are noticably growing in confidence and the fans sing that 'We're by far the greatest team the world has ever seen'. However, Cardiff have a corner.
56 mins: Substitution for PNE - the query is solved as Hawley replaces Patrick Agyemang.
55 mins: Bit of a knock for Gally who's holding the lower part of his shin. Interestingly, Karl Hawley is already stripped and ready to come on, but who for?
54 mins: As if magically inspired by the derision, Hasselbaink charges at the Preston defence and looks set to strike before Davidson races over to make a great block. The home fans now sing Jimmy's name... a fickle game is football.
53 mins: Bit of a disagreement between Fowler and Hasselbaink after the Dutchman carelessly strolls offside and rules out Fowler's options as he looks to make a pass. The crowd jeer Jimmy too.
50 mins: Goal for PNE! An absolute blinder from Callum Davidson, who hammers it left footed into the bottom right corner from the edge of the box after Hill's cross was only partially cleared away. 1-1
47 mins: Free kick to PNE after Rae is penalised for handball on the edge of the box. The effort strikes the wall and Sedgwick floats the loose ball onto the head of Gallagher, but his effort is weak.
46 mins: Substitution for Cardiff - Chris Gunter on for Paul Parry.
1350: Cardiff emerge back onto the playing surface and we start again.
1347: North End re-appear far quicker than the hosts and are led through a heading routine by coach Billy Barr.
1344: The PNE subs are laughing and joking amongst themselves as they warm up so spirit appears good despite trailing at the break.
1337: The players may have gone off but there's still plenty of action taking place on the playing surface, with a seven a side game for the kids and a weird looking mascot overseeing a game of 'On Me Shed Son', which will be familiar to Deepdale regulars.
45 + 3 mins: Injury time flows from end to end, but neither side nets before the whistle goes.
45 mins: A minimum of three added minutes is the fourth official's indication.
42 mins: Billy Jones goes in late on Ledley and the crowd want a red card, which is hugely ambitious. Having been keen to hand out bookings with great regularity so far, Mr Hall surprisingly lets it pass but tells Billy not to do it again.
40 mins: Chilvers goes in for an arial challenge with Fowler in the centre circle but the referee doesn't like that either and brandishes another yellow.
38 mins: Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink tries to whip in a screamer but he only succeeds in hitting the back of the small stand away to our left.
37 mins: Gavin Rae tests Lonergan with a looping shot, which he tips over after seeming slightly surprised by the effort.
36 mins: Davidson sends Gallagher away but he's held up by two defenders. A plea for handball falls on deaf ears as the two men back do enough to see him off.
33 mins: "Preston, Preston what's the score" cry the hosts. Even with a pre-dawn departure I think the North End faithful are alert enough to realise that we're behind again - a feeling that keeps blighting our away days so far this season.
32 mins: Random photos of toothless young City fans keep appearing on the big screen, which provides an unusual backdrop as North End attack.
28 mins: Goal for Cardiff! Another good cross from Ledley and this time Fowler delivers - heading into the net from close range. His first for Cardiff and the ground erupts. 0-1
27 mins: Mawene sniffs out Hasselbaink's threat after Ledley delivers a good low cross from the right.
23 mins: Chiller has a left-footed shot deflected wide after Paddy trips over a prone Cardiff defender and the ball bounces invitingly. Corner to PNE. McNaughton and Johnson take knocks in the process so they have to defend the corner - successfully - with nine men.
22 mins: Callum nets after being sent through by Carter but the flag had long since gone off because he was several yards offside. The ref doesn't like it and shows him a yellow card.
21 mins: Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink eyes up his options, sees that there aren't many, and settles for winning a corner instead. The corner comes to nothing.
16 mins: Paddy goes down in a heap at the other end so its a mad dash for Kempy to treat his latest patient.
14 mins: Parry's ball picks out the head of Robbie Fowler who looks certain to score his first Cardiff goal, but Lonners stretches magnificently to tip it over the bar. Save of the season so far. He seemed to collide with the post in making the save, but seems OK after some quick attention from Steve Kemp.
13 mins: Youl goes clattering into his man and earns himself a yellow card.
12 mins: The lyrics of the local chants indicate that they don't think England is a very good place to live. Shame, because we've found Wales to be a rather hospitable place so far and hoped the sentiment was mutual.
11 mins: Carter's corner is half-cleared to Sedgwick but he can't get a shot away.
10 mins: The atmosphere starts to step up thanks to the vocal hosts but North End win a corner.
7 mins: Paddy and Sedg charge forward but Cardiff manage to clear their lines as danger loomed for the home side.
6 mins: Cardiff come close from a headed set piece through Roger Johnson but Callum Davidson clears off the line.
5 mins: Gallagher whacks in a shot that clears the bar by a matter of inches. Good start for PNE.
4 mins: The Cardiff 'Streetteam' come and sit in front of us in the press box. For those of you unfamiliar with such individuals, they're a group of ladies in skin tight Cardiff shirts who presumably act as as a mini cheerleading outfit. Though they now partially block our view of the pitch, we're not complaining.
2 mins: North End look quicker off the mark but can't quite find the killer pass as they charge forwards.
1246: The game kicks off. The PA man (who sounds a bit like Aled off Radio One) demands that the home fans make some noise.
1245: A small group of PNE fans have gone shirtless in the away section behind the goal. Thank goodness it's a warm day.
1244: Some people are on the pitch... Ah yes, that would be the players.
1243: The teams are in the tunnel, and they're next to appear on Cardiff's video wall.
1242: Simmo's face appears on the big screen as Sky conduct a live interview with him pre-match, though we can't hear the words as Prokofiev blares out all around the ground.
1227: A number of legends have taken their place in the press box, with former Everton star Kevin Ratcliffe and Welsh striking sensation Iwan Roberts both milling around.
1225: The ground isn't particularly full yet but we're expecting a late rush. The fans are probably looking to spend as much time in the pub pre-match as possible, with the early start affecting normal 3pm routines.
1215: Rhianna fuses effortlessly into Run DMC as the local radio station providing the PA tunes provides an excellent combo of dance and RNB. It's like being in Fishergate on a Saturday night, only with a load of Welshmen wearing blue shirts all around.
1200: The teams are in, and there's just one change for Preston. Matt Hill comes in for the suspended Andy Carroll, resulting in a tactical re-shuffle with Callum Davidson moving forward to the left wing and Paul Gallagher taking a striking berth. Michael Oakes and Joe Ledley come in for Cardiff in place of Ross Turnbull and Chris Gunter.
PNE: Lonergan, Davidson, Mawene, Sedgwick, Agyemang, Gallagher, Carter, Chilvers, Hill, Jones, Nicholls. Subs: Chris Neal, Lewis Neal, Hawley, Mellor, St Ledger.
Cardiff: Oakes, McNaughton, Capaldi, Rae, Fowler, McPhail, Parry, Johnson, Ledley, Sinclair, Hasselbaink. Subs: Turnbull, Whittingham, Thompson, Blake, Gunter.
