PNE's Playing For Success officer Sarah Higham has done her bit - now she's looking for North End fans to support her bid to raise over £2,000 for Cancer Research UK.
Sarah had her hair shaved off at County Hall on 26th October as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Day in the hope of raising as much money as possible for a more than worthy cause. Now, the selfless 'fund-razor' is hoping that the generocity of the Club's supporters can help her to fulfil one of her appeal's key aspirations - to beat the two-grand barrier.

"Everyone has been really supportive which made me less nervous," claimed Sarah. "Luckily I had lots of time to prepare myself before the big day so I didn't panic and even chopped off a few chunks of my own hair, which was surprisingly fun! I lost my voice for three days afterwards which was far worse than losing my hair!
"I actually quite like it, but don't think I'll be keeping it. I can't believe losing my hair was actually on my list of phobias up with being covered in spiders or burned alive! Luckily I had lots of time to prepare myself for it and got all of my panic out of the way before the big day.

"I was shocked by how many more people I've found while fundraising that have been affected by cancer and breast cancer in particular. I am really glad I've been able to raise money for such an important charity."
Donations are still coming in and at the last count her total was £1,838.30, which Sarah claims is definitely worth the loss of her hair! Her fundraising page is open until January and further donations are more than welcome via http://www.donatetobreastcancer.org/sarahhigham1.
