Fans Team To Honour Lifelong Supporter

Posted on: Fri 21 Dec 2007

The Fans Team are to honour PNE fan Raymund Jackson in their upcoming match at Southampton this Saturday.

Raymund, an avid Northender who followed the Club through thick and thin over the last thirty years, died unexpectedly just over a fortnight ago aged 52.

As a mark of respect, the Fans Team will serve a one minute silence prior to kick-off and don black armbands throughout the match with their South Coast opponents.

Captain Steve Cowell said: "I shared the same journey as him and we all feel it is right to dedicate the game to 'Jacko'

"It's the right gesture for him and it is poignant that we are playing an away game because he hardly ever missed a match, clocking up thousands of miles in his time watching North End.

"Hopefully we are going to have a reunion for him sometime early next year with all the people from the era of the 70s and 80s. He was a scooter boy like the rest of us and we all used to go on the rallies and we were all into our northern soul.

"He was an integral part of that scene, everyone knows him and a lot of fans have fantastic memories of Raymund."

Kick-off is at 11am and anyone requiring directions or further information should contact Steve Cowell on 07971 902671.
