Preston North End Chairman Derek Shaw has admitted that the Club are helpless in preventing want-away striker Patrick Agyemang from leaving Deepdale.
The 27-year-old looks set for a move back to his native London with Queen Park Rangers after Shaw explained that it would make sense to accept an offer from the Loftus Road club instead of keeping the player at North End against his will.
The Chairman said: "Players are in a win-win situation like this, he is on a free transfer in the summer and the deal will probably happen this month.
"That's a fact of life, it has happened to us before and it will probably happen to us again. It has happened to bigger clubs than Preston North End and Tottenham are in a similar situation at the moment with Dimitar Berbatov and he's not even on a Bosman.
"We don't want lose Pat, we'd love to resign him but you almost have a gun to your head in these situations and there is only one winner.
"We have told them that the deal will probably happen. We are at the beginning of January and we have to do something before the month ends or we are stuck with a player that doesn't want to be here and we lose the money that we can get in which can help towards a replacement.
"We haven't said 'yes we are accepting it' but we have told Pat that the deal will probably happen. There's no way he wants to sign for us and there is very little we can do about it apart from not accept the money and waste paying wages for someone that doesn't want to be here.
"We are doing a lot of work, it is very difficult to find players and the money that is being asked is incredible.
"One of the wealthiest men in the world has now joined the QPR board and they are jokingly saying that they are now the wealthiest club in the world. I don't know what backing he is going to give them, I've no idea, but they have moved into a new era and good luck to them."
