It's A Shaw Trust Thing
Preston North End were pleased to welcome the Shaw Trust to Deepdale again for the PNE versus Crystal Palace game. Before the kick-off, the Trust presented PNE shop gift vouchers to former service user Philip Rothwell, who, with the help of the trust has set up his own furniture restoration and upholstery business, the celebration was in honour of the 5,000 people that Shaw Trust have supported in Lancashire so far. The presentation was made by Shaw Trust Consultants Ian Crossthwaite and Drew Gale and PNE Community Development Manager Andrea Troake.
Shaw Trust consultant Drew Gale was keen to thank the club for there help in promoting the work that the charity does. He singled out for special praise the efforts of Andrea Troake 'whose help and support over the past year has been invaluable and very much appreciated.'
Andrea responded: "Preston North End Football Club prides itself on its close relationship with the local community, schemes such as the one the Shaw trust operates benefit disadvantaged people within the area, this is something the Preston North End will always be enthusiastic about supporting."
