After the late loan capture of Hungarian striker Tamas Priskin from promotion chasing Watford, the Manager admitted that it could be both for the benefit of the Lilywhites and his parent club.

"I'm sure that Aidy would have been swayed by the fact that we do have a play a few of the teams who are up and around them between now and the end of the season," the Gaffer told PNE.Com from the team hotel in South London as the side made their final preparations for the clash with promotion chasing Charlton Athletic.

"Clearly, he'll be hoping that Tamas can do a job for them between now and the end of the season, just as we are hoping he can do a good job for us. This will hopefully work out for the benefit of both parties. It will be great for us, first and foremost, hopefully it will be great for Tamas and hopefully then it will be great for Watford."

The decision to bring the 22-year-old into the North End squad came after talking over Brett Ormerod's loan move to Nottingham Forest, the Manager revealed: "I spoke to Brett after we knew about Craig Beattie's injury and we knew we had to find out whether Brett still wanted to go on loan or not.

"He did do, because obviously he knew he was coming back to be still fourth choice strike, as it is at this particular moment. Because Brett still wanted to go, I felt it would have been unfair having said I would let him go to say no. It then left us with a bit of a dilemma as we were obviously down to three strikers and that made me feel a little bit vulnerable.

"I was aware there was a possibility that Watford would allow Tamas Priskin to go our on loan. I have a bit of knowledge about the player; he played against Everton in the Premiership and I remember being impressed with him in that particular game and he's a promising young player.

"I then went about trying to find out whether he was available or not. Thankfully Watford agreed that he could come to us and we have done a deal for one month at the moment and there's the possibility of extending it if we have to. It is just one month just know, because we are hoping that within one month Craig Beattie will be back and we would obviously be covered again."

Priskin is a full international, with six goals in 16 games for Hungary and will be hoping to show his ability in front of goal from the outset if involved in his new No.25 shirt at the valley and the Manager thinks he has the qualities to do that.

"He's a big lad. He's strong, but not a physical type of player. He's not a player who relies on his height or his strength. He's a player who is good technically and is a powerful runnr. He is not lightning, but he's a powerful runner and someone who is prepared to run in behind. He's a good finisher and technically he's a very good player."
