Footyrider Grows In Time For Kick-Off
Posted on: Fri 06 Aug 2010
PNE are delighted to announce the arrival of a bigger and better Footyrider service on city centre Stagecoach buses for the brand new season ahead.
This service makes it both cheaper and easier for fans to get to Deepdale on matchdays and is also a more environmentally friendly way of getting to the ground.
Footyrider will be offering even more ways for you to claim the special ticket this year, with matchday and season tickets also acting as acceptable forms of ID alongside your MyPNE membership card, as in previous seasons.
To benefit from this service, fans just have to show any of the three items listed above to the driver, and they'll receive a return ticket to Deepdale on any Stagecoach service within the validity area around the city upon payment of just £2.
Buses leave from Preston bus station every ten minutes and after the match buses will be outside the ground to transport supporters back to the Bus Station. With Stagecoach's scheduled services also running past the ground, supporters can then change onto their relevant bus home from the bus station which is all included in the ticket price.

As our photos show, Sean St. Ledger was a particular fan of the concept when Stagecoach sent a PNE branded bus to our Open Training Day, and he was joined by Adam Barton, Paul Coutts and Danny Mayor in promoting the scheme to a wider audience.
The following areas will be covered on matchdays by the Footyrider:
CITI 1 - Longridge, Grimsargh, Ribbleton, Bus Station
CITI 2 - Hesketh Bank, Tarleton, Much Hoole, Walmer Bridge, Longton, Howick, Penwortham, Bus Station
CITI 2A - New Longton, Longton, Howick, Penwortham, Bus Station
CITI 3 - Penwortham, Cop Lane, Bus Station
4 - Longridge, Goosnargh, Broughton, Woodplumpton, Bus Station
CITI 9 - Moor Nook, New Hall Lane, Bus Station
61 - Lea, Lane Ends, Bus Station
68 - Lea, Lane Ends, Bus Station
X59 - Blackburn, A59, Bus Station
X61 - Kirkham, Bus Station, Frenchwood
* Some of the above services operate beyond the boundaries of the city. Footyrider tickets are only valid within the Megarider area of the city. Supporters from outside these areas can purchase a Lancashire Day Rider for £5.90 to secure return travel to Deepdale.
Stagecoach have always supplied our fans at PNE with a good quality, highly reliable service and so we are very much looking forward to working with them again for the 2010/11 season.
