World Champs Tackle League Champs

Posted on: Fri 17 Oct 2008
Preston North End's fans team face the ultimate test this weekend when they tackle a Rochdale outfit who are unbeaten in 14-months.

Steve Cowell's men have agreed to take on the fixture after Reading's fans team pulled out at the last minute and they couldn't have asked for a more difficult match.

Rochdale are the current league champions having taken Preston's crown last season and they have not been beaten in 14-months. But Preston's fans team are the current World champions having won the prestigious WorldNet championship during the summer, the Lilywhites fans are currently unbeaten in this campaign and proudly sit top of the Fans League table.

Speaking about the big match Steve Cowell said: "It's a big pressure game. Reading have had a change of manager and they didn't fancy tackling us this weekend so Rochdale got in touch and asked if they wanted a match. They're a really good side, lots of six footers and most of them play Sunday League so this is going to be really big test for us, they're up for it but so are my boys."

Preston North End Fans tackle Rochdale Fans at 10am on Moor Park this Saturday 18th October. North End fans are encouraged to get down and cheer the lads on for what is sure to be a feisty affair.
