90+3 min: The referee gives it the big whistle and it's all over.
90+2 min: Late threat from Watford. McAnuff slams a high ball towards the back post, Ainsworth is underneath it and he dinks it across the six-yard box. Rasiak could have tapped it home but he was in an offside position and Wayne Brown was there with a heroic challenge.
86 min: Double substitution from North End. Elliott and man of the match Wallace are replaced by Mellor and Whaley.
85 min: Some amusing moments from the big screen. It's flashing up the Blackpool score, they're getting beat at Cardiff and the crowd are loving it.
80 min: Youl Mawene produces a smashing tackle but the ball falls in Watford's favour. Lionel Ainsworth picking up the ball on the right and sending a great ball across the face of goal.
70 min: Watford almost hit back. Rasiak is a little fortunate to find himself with the ball at his feet inside the box, he has plenty of time and space to hit a shot and tries curling one in at the far post. It goes well wide.
68 min: Goal!!!! This time Wallace is not to be denied. It's an almost carbon-copy of the previous chance but this time his shot is on target and Richard Lee will be disappointed as Wallace's powerful effort squeezes underneath the keeper and into the back of the net. We're not complaining though.
65 min: It's all action. Watford win a soft free-kick on the left and the ball is played deep across goal where Rasiak is waiting, he heads it back across and there are cries for a handball but North End break clear with McEveley. The ball is played out to the right where Wallace is waiting, he uses St. Ledger as a decoy and cuts inside before hitting a shot that smashes onto the woodwork.
63 min: Jay McEveley with a barnstorming run from the full-back position, he runs the two-thirds of the way downfield with the ball at his feet, he seems to be running out of options of who to pass to the further he gets towards goal so he lets rip with a good old fashioned shot which flies over the bar.
61 min: The whistling seems to have brought PNE to life. Stephen Elliott and Jon Parkin launch a couple of sortees down the left and one of them earns a corner from which Youl Mawene glances a header across goal.
58 min: The crowd are amusing themselves by launching a whistling competition. Rather juvenile. Roger Whittaker has not got anything to be worried about.
46 min: The two teams are back underway in these chilly Deepdale temperatures. No changes at the break for either side.
2045: Centre Stage was the half-time entertainment. Two North End fans who have always dreamt of performing on the pitch in Preston's answer to Preston's Got The X-Factor. Check out pne.com or rockfm.co.uk for more details.
43 min: A goal for Preston North End!!! Billy Jones with his first ever goal for the Club. Wallace and Nicholson had switched flanks and it was a fine cross field ball to the far post from Wallace to Nicholson, he volleyed it across the face of goal, Richard Lee got a hand to it but Jones was there to send a looping header into the back of the net.
37 min: A bit of a spark at last. A real goalmouth scramble at one end of the field and then PNE break away through Stephen Elliott and almost get a goal of their own. Stephen Elliott picking the ball up just outside his own box and setting off towards goal, a good diversionary run from Paul McKenna takes a defender away from the centre and Elliott continues on before unleashing a low shot towards goal, literally a yard out from its target.
35 min: The power is back on. But it's not too electrifying on the pitch at the moment.
19 min: North End live dangerously as a Watford corner causes mayhem. The ball flies across goal as Lonergan slips, Tommy Smith volleys the ball across the face of goal and O'Toole somehow powers a header against the crossbar from two-yards out, it was harder to miss. The ball comes out to Ward and he pokes it towards goal, McEveley is the last man on the line to clear the ball to safety with his thigh.
17 min: A real good chance from a corner for Preston. Nicholson knocks in a corner from the right and St. Ledger powers through the box to nod a header towards the near post. Parkin is lurking in front of the keeper but he can't get anything on the ball to divert it past the keeper.
9 min: North End launch a promising attack down the left. It comes with Ross Wallace sprinting clear into space, plenty of time to deliver the ball and Jay McEveley of all people is the quickest to the front post to power a header. It's well off target and lands at Ross Wallace's feet who is in an off-side position.
6 min: Watford win a corner on the right and Darren Ward is highest to power a header towards goal. Lonergan is down to it and O'Toole tries to get a cheeky dig at Lonners whilst he's on the ground.
5 min: Not too much to report. The big screen is just black. It's like that artist in the Fast Show, it's blaaaaack!!! Looks like the lights in the Pavilion have gone off which might explain why.
0 min: A nice bright start for the Lilywhites they win a free-kick and St. Ledger impatiently picks the ball up and plays a quicky to Ross Wallace. The Scot dinks a ball towards goal but it's neither a shot or a ball towards a PNE player.
1943: So the Whites World duties are out of the way and I'm all yours till half-time. Nothing much to report. We've had all the pre-match stuff, the usual tunes, a bit of 'Kick It Out' Anti-Racism stuff
PNE: Lonergan; St. Ledger, Brown, Mawene, McEveley; Nicholson, McKenna, Jones, Wallace; Parkin, Elliott. Subs: Jarrett, Sedgwick, Whaley, Mellor, C Neal.
Watford: Lee; Sadler, DeMerit, Ward, Harley; Doyley, O'Toole, Eustace, Smith; Hoskins, Rasiak. Subs: McAnuff, Williamson, Ainsworth, Mariappa, Tyler.
1916: Just the one change for North End this evening and it's quite an unexpected one with Wayne Brown coming at the expense of Chris Sedgwick. Sean St. Ledger passes a fitness test and lines up at right-back as Alan Irvine tinkers with the formation. Billy Jones moving up to a central midfield role alongside Paul McKenna and Barry Nicholson moves back out to the right.
