PNE centre half Liam Chilvers (pictured with Stagecoach Operations Manager Rob Jones) paid a visit to Christ the King Catholic Junior School in Preston on Thursday to reward pupils with fifty free matchday tickets for an upcoming game.
He also took time out to help deliver an important environmental message with his sponsors Stagecoach.
Stagecoach NorthWest already have a link up with the Club, providing matchday transport for North End fans through the Footyrider bus service, and as sponsors of Liam, they were able to help educate the youngsters on the merits of considering their local environment and what traffic congestion problems mean for schools, football clubs and the City in general.
The big centre half, currently sidelined from first team action with a hamstring problem, handed out the fifty free tickets to the excited children, donated by Stagecoach as part of their sponsorship of Liam. He then signed autographs and posed for photos as the newly branded Footyrider bus rears were simultaneously launched, featuiring on a parked 'Citi' bus outside the school entrance.
Don't forget fans can use the Footyrider matchday travel service to make a return journey from a stop near them to the game and back for just £2!
Fans can use any of the normal 'Citi' Stagecoach buses and get on one of over twenty different routes travelling around Preston. Please visit the official website at pne.com and click on the 'Fans' tab for more information on routes.
Preston North End would like to thank Liam's sponsors Stagecoach and Christ the Kind School for their participation and cooperation with the visit.
