A number of former North End stars will be donning their boots once again this week in order to raise funds for a local semi-pro star who recently suffered a horrendous injury.
Bamber Bridge defender Stuart Howson, who was an Academy prospect at Blackburn under Rob Kelly's tutelage, endured a double broken leg in last month's UniBond League First Division clash at Wakefield, meaning the trainee PE teacher cannot work for several months and will be left without pay.
Therefore, a charity fixture between Bamber Bridge and Chorley 'legends XIs' will take place at Brig's QED Stadium this coming Tuesday, 16th December, at 7pm to aid his cause.
Lee Ashcroft, Ian Bryson and Nigel Greenwood are expected to feature for 'the Brig' with Sean Teale on the opposite side, so please head along to Irongate to support the 27-year-old former Accrington and Chesterfield defender.
Admission is £5 for adults and £3 for concessions, which includes entry into a grand raffle where a number of great sporting prizes including a signed PNE home shirt will be up for grabs.
