Sunderland Special For FA Youth Cup

Posted on: Wed 07 Jan 2009

Kids go free* as supporters getting behind PNE's youngsters at next Tuesday's FA Youth Cup fourth round tie at home to Sunderland are offered the chance to enjoy the game from a different vantage point following the Club's decision to trial the use of the Invincibles Pavilion as the sole viewing area on the night.

In previous seasons, only a section of the Sir Tom Finney Stand has been in operation for FA Youth Cup and reserve fixtures at Deepdale, but with the new stand now complete, fans are being offered the chance to watch the game closer to the action as the Premier League Academy side comes to town on Tuesday 13th January, kick-off 7pm.

Though squads change rapidly at youth level, North End's gallant 3-2 defeat at the Stadium of Light two seasons ago is still fresh in the mind, and Jamie Hoyland and Dean Ramsdale will be hoping to lead their side to a second success in as many rounds against Academy-level opposition having seen off Reading by a solitary Ryan McGreevy goal at the Madejski Stadium in December.

An increasingly successful season at under 18 level has seen two youngsters - Adam Barton and Danny Mayor - signing professional deals in the past month, while the team went into their Christmas break having won their last five games.

Get behind the boys by heading down to Deepdale on the night, where admission for reserved seating (best central seats allocated on a first-come, first served basis) costs just £4 for adults and £2 for concessions, with one under 16 admitted free alongside each paying adult (please note that this game is not included as part of the season ticket package). Entry is via the turnstiles at the southern end of the Invincibles Pavilion, adjacent to the ticket sales windows where tickets must be pre-purchased before gaining admission.

Supporters arriving by car are advised to use the Invincibles Pavilion car park, which can be accessed via Lowthorpe Road for all supporters approaching from Blackpool Road, or via St Stephen's Road and St Gregory's Road for those arriving along Deepdale Road.

Collectors should also note that a small commemorative programme will be available at this fixture.

*One free under 16 ticket with each paying adult.
