PNE will open the 2009/10 season with a home clash against Bristol City, with the Lilywhites faithful forced to wait for the 'big' games of the new campaign.
North End host the side from the south west on Saturday 8th August, before successive Yorkshire away trips follow at Doncaster Rovers (Saturday 15th August) and Barnsley (Tuesday 18th August).
However, those 'first ones you look for' against Blackpool and Newcastle are tucked away in the winter months, with PNE playing the pair just a week apart on each occasion.
Preston host Alan Shearer's newly relegated Magpies on Saturday 21st November, before travelling to Bloomfield Road for the derby a week later on Saturday 28th November.
The return games fall in the month of February, with North End welcoming the Seasiders on Saturday the 13th, before travelling to the north east on Saturday the 20th.
A number of attractive home dates include October match-ups against West Bromwich Albion (Saturday 3rd) and Middlesbrough (Saturday 24th) and a third consecutive Boxing Day without having to travel as Barnsley come to Deepdale on Saturday 26th December.
League One champions Leicester City provide our final home opposition on Saturday 24th April, before a potentially huge final day fixture at Reading (Sunday 2nd May).

There are no New Year's Day clashes again this year, due to the third round of the FA Cup falling on the following day, while the latest date our season could finish is Saturday 22nd May 2010 - the day of the Championship Play-Off Final at Wembley.
Please note that these are all draft fixtures at this stage, with some alterations likely once the Police and TV companies have made their requests for certain games to be moved.
