Open Training Day A Great Success!

Manager Alan Irvine threw open the doors to Deepdale on Monday to allow fans an exclusive insight of him putting the side through their paces in the run up to the new season. With almost 1500 supporters in attendance the players completed a series of training drills, sprints and an intense seven-a-side mini game, in preparation for the big kick-off on 8th August.
For the first time under Irvine's leadership fans could watch a training session as well as enjoy a number of other fun events around the stadium designed to give supporters a sneak peek behind the scenes at Deepdale. Speaking about the day the manager was extremely pleased both with the turnout and by the workrate shown by his players.
"It was great to see so many people at Deepdale. From the feedback I have had so far, it would appear that everyone enjoyed it and hopefully it gave people a better opportunity to understand what we try to do with the players."
The players took time out after the session to sign many autographs for those in attendance and there was a special appearance on the day by Club President Sir Tom Finney, who was in the Invincibles Lounge signing autographs with other PNE legends George Ross, David Eyres, Tommy Thompson and Alan Kelly Jr, as part of a former players signing session.
As well as this, many took up the offer of a massive 20% off everything in the Club shop, as well as opportunities to sign up for the YNE supporters club and take a tour of the corporate hospitality areas of the Pavilion. Outside the ground fans were able to find out all they needed to know about the Footyrider home matchday bus service and the away match travel service with new partners Walton Swift, with a number of buses on display.
