Alan Irvine was satisfied after watching the 4-1 win at Irongate believing the scoreline could have been greater.
The Lilywhites won comfortably in the end and after a dominant display the Gaffer was just happy to see his side come through unscathed with a win: "We put on what I thought was a fully professional display and it was a performance that showed we respected the players that we were playing against.
"Bamber Bridge did very well, we could have scored more goals, we could have made better passes when we were in that final third but we have got time to work on that."
Irvine was joined by goalkeeping coach Andy Rhodes at Bamber Bridge whilst Rob Kelly and Billy Barr took charge of the game at Chorley's Victory Park and the PNE boss was quick to refute suggestions that the team that he was casting his eye over was the one that might be starting the campaign against Bristol City.
"I simply split the squads," he said.
"There will be players at Chorley who will very much be in contention at the start of the season, there was absolutely no consideration given as to what the team will be at the start of the season. There are a lot of pre-season games to play between now and then and the closer we get to the 8th August the closer we will get to the team.
"I'm a long way from knowing my team for August 8th, at the moment it is everyone getting equal time on the pitch and we will see what comes to be come the first day of the season. I won't pick the team until the 7th August."
With plenty of fans keen to see the progress of rookie winger Danny Mayor it was left to another pair of youngsters to almost upstage their former youth team-mate, Jamie Proctor and Tom Smyth both grabbing goals in impressive displays.
Irvine offered plenty of hope for Mayor and any other youngsters that may break into the first team ranks.
He said: "It is nice for them to get a chance to play with the senior players, it is important that they don't get overawed by that, but there were some good performances there. There is a lot for them to do, they have got a lot to learn, a lot to improve on but they did well enough.
"Danny Mayor came away to Austria with us and he fitted in well, he played very well in the game that we played over there but playing against the team we played in Austria, with all due respect, isn't really an indication of where Danny is at this moment. He's doing fine training with the first team lads and he will continue to do that, as will two or three of the other boys.
"It's up to them to show that they can cope, I am certainly not against putting young players in, that's for sure, in fact I'm all for it, we could do with it but they won't go in until they are ready."
