After a difficult week chairman Derek Shaw thanked the players and staff for their professionalism as the side thumped Colchester United 7-0 at Deepdale in front of a healthy crowd.
"It has been a very very difficult week," said the PNE chief. "The result and the performance today was a measure of the professionalism of Rob, the coaching staff and the players.
"I would like to give a special thank to those people and everyone behind the scenes for their efforts this week, as I know how difficult it has been.
"I would also like to thank the fans, particularly those who helped clear the ice and covers off the pitch. It was a good crowd today and I would like to thank everyone for getting behind the team."
