Chairman Derek Shaw has described the FA Cup fourth round clash with Chelsea as a 'wonderful draw' after the Lilywhites were drawn out against the Premier League leaders at Deepdale.
John Terry, Frank Lampard et al will be at Deepdale the weekend of January 23rd and the chairman was thrilled at the prospect of facing the Blues: "I think it's an absolutely wonderful draw for us to get Chelsea at home," he told the official website. "I think the fans will be thrilled to bits and the players and staff will be really looking forward to it.
"We will obviously start the game as underdogs, but you never know what can happen in the FA Cup, that's what it is all about.
"The FA Cup draw has not been the kindest to Preston over the years, but we have certainly got one that will get the fans excited about this one and I am sure the lads will be up for it. They will know they will be in for a game."
And after scoring seven to book their place against Carlos Ancelotti's side, the PNE chief is hoping for another impressive display: "Six will do against Chelsea! They know what a difficult game it will be, because they are a top top side, but we will be looking forward to it.
"When we appoint a new manager he will have something exciting to look forward to.
"It will be a great boost for our supporters and it will take their minds off what has been a difficult week."
Ticket news will be announced on PNE.Com from later on Monday 4th January.
