The first of the Manchester United loanees to come to ply their trade at Deepdale has told pne.com about how much he is enjoying playing with Jon Parkin. Danny Welbeck and the former Stoke City striker have linked up well in the last couple of games and the 19-year-old explained to the official website why they've hit it off.
"Jon's a good player, he's got a good touch for a big man, he has got a really good touch and can bring me into the game which I can't do myself so it's easy to play with him.
"He knows where I'm going to make my runs now after the two games we've played together so it's just a case of playing more with him."
The Manchester United starlet has shone for North End so far, scoring twice and linking up well with 'The Beast' and he revealed to pne.com how the 2009 Player of the Year has advised him during matches.
"He's always shouting at me in games and telling me to get to places but it's always good to listen to anybody, so I listen to his advice and try and put it into my own game."
North End finished with their first draw under Darren Ferguson at the weekend and though the Manchester United teenager relished the atmosphere he felt the Lilywhites should have won all three points.
"It was a derby game and was quite tough because we couldnt' get the ball down and play as much as we would have liked. I enjoyed it as it was a derby game, I enjoy all football games but I would have enjoyed it more if we'd won.
"W got a few opportunities, both myself and the team, and in the end to get a point was quite disappointing because we thought we should have won but that's football."
Welbeck was denied a shot on goal early on by a cracking challenge from Rob Edwards and prodded narrowly wide in the second half and the frontman added that PNE didn't make their pressure count.
"They had a few chacnes to be fair to them, hitting the crossbar and there were others, but if we had made the most of our chances and the pressure earlier on we could have scored quite a few goals but that's how the game went. We're not happy with that but we've just got to deal with it."
North End move on to Derby at Pride Park and it's a venue the youngster knows well after starring for Manchester United there last season
"I scored the fourth goal there when United beat Derby 4-1 in the FA Cup last season. It was a nice little finish - Fletch played a one-two with Giggsy and then rolled the ball to me on the corner of the box where I just curled it into the far corner. It was probably my best goal for United. My goal on my debut against Stoke was good but the one at Derby required more technique - I really enjoyed that one."
It's almost a month since Danny left Old Trafford for Deepdale and like most other observers he has found the Championship a fascinating, though nigh on impossible, league to predict.
"Derby beat Newcastle United 3-0 at home but that's happening in this league at the moment, it's crazy, you never know what's going to happen, but that's football and I'm just looking forward to ghe game and getting three points."
