Stephen Elliott is expected to complete a loan move to League One leaders Norwich City on Friday. The Republic of Ireland striker will join Paul Lambert's frontrunners for the rest of season.
Elliott, whose chances at Deepdale have been limited since the arrival of Danny Welbeck on loan, and the form of Jon Parkin, Chris Brown and Neil Mellor - who have over 30 goals between them this season - will get the chance of regular first team football with the promotion favourites in East Anglia.

Speaking about the move manager Darren Ferguson told PNE Player: "Stephen Elliott has gone to Norwich for the rest of the season. Obviously he got back involved in the last couple of games, but I feel that if Danny's fit, five striker's is one too many. It gives him an opportunity to go and get games; he hasn't had many.
"I felt, because it was Norwich, it was a good one for him and he was keen on going. I feel we have enough, with Danny fit, Neil, Chris and Jon and with a lot of games coming up we have to try and keep them as fit as we possibly can."
