PNE v Forest

Preston North End are set to welcome former manager Billy Davies back to Deepdale for the first time under the control of high-flying Nottingham Forest.

Former skipper Paul McKenna will miss out on a return to Preston, after picking up a knee injury in their 1-0 home win against Swansea last weekend.

Meanwhile the game could see Chris Sedgwick pick up his 250th appearance for the Whites after signing from Rotherham at the back end of 2004.

North End's number seven has played the highest amount of games out of the current crop of Lilywhites players - making his debut in the 3-0 home win to Derby on 27th November 2004.

Preston go into the game unbeaten in three fixtures after a victory over Cardiff and draws to Plymouth and Doncaster. The draw against Donny marked the first of three home games with Forest being the second on Saturday.

The Tricky-Trees, on-the-other-hand, are sitting in third place in the Championship table on 64 points, two behind West Brom who occupy the last automatic promotion spot.

The last meeting between the two clubs saw Forest run out in a 3-0 victory with Paul McKenna opening the scoring on 16 minutes, which was coincidentally his squad number in his time at Deepdale.

Gaffer's team News
"Tom (Williams) is still quite sore; we'll have to assess him again tomorrow. Callum (Davidson) is fine, trained today and I thought he did really well when he came on against Doncaster.

"If Tom is fit obviously I'll have a decision to make there. Ideally you want them both fit because you want them fighting for their place - that's how it should be.

"Danny is out; he's had a reaction to his knee again so we can forget about Danny.

"It is a blow for us and a blow for the lad. He trained Tuesday and trained well and we expected yesterday to be a formality and be back with us today.

"Unfortunately there has been a reaction in his knee which has swelled up again so he defiantly misses Saturday and there's a chance that'll be it then."

The Opposition
Nottingham Forest travel to Deepdale having lost their previous five games away from home, last winning on their travels against promotion rivals West Brom on 9th January.

Forest come into the tie on the back of a 1-0 home win to play-off hopefuls Swansea City following a 91st minute winner by centre-back Luke Chambers.

Their last outing saw the Reds plunge to a 3-0 defeat to Leicester City with former North End loan man Paul Gallagher adding the Fox's second.

Their home record speaks for itself, last losing at the City Ground against Premier League Blackburn Rovers in mid-September. Since then they have won 13 and drawn two on home turf - impressing the 25,000 fans that usually turn out to see the Reds.

What many people forget is that it's only Forest's second year in the Championship after getting automatic promotion in the 2007-08 campaign finishing second two Swansea City.

Davies took the reins at Forest in January last year with his record consisting of 28 wins, 17 draws and a likewise number of defeats. Forest is his fourth club after managing Derby, Motherwell and PNE.

Opposition Manager
"The extent of Paul's problem is not as bad as we first feared.

"He will be out of my plans for several weeks but knowing Paul as I do I wouldn't necessarily rule him out for the rest of the season.

"On the balance of play I thought we just about deserved the win. We created the better chances.

"We should have gone ahead but Chris Cohen tried not to get his hair dirty when he had the chance to give us the lead.

"It's a big, big win for us and it's a tremendous achievement for this side to be where they are at this point of the season.

"This time last year 75% of them were fighting relegation and they deserve enormous credit for getting this club where it is now."
Former PNE boss Billy Davies gave his views to the Nottingham Forest official website and BBC sport.

Opposition Player
"Losing McKenna will be massive not just football wise but on the pitch he is a massive talker but we're a squad so we'll have to try and deal with that and hopefully the players who come in will do a good job for the team.

"Every away game is going to be tough from now on in. I think the lads have played Preston a few times before and we know what to expect when we go there but we have to remain positive. We've got a job there to be done and hopefully we can go and do it.

"We've just got to concentrate on the main aim and that is to go and perform to try and get the three points."
Lewis McGugan, who scored against Preston in December, shares his thoughts with 'Nottingham Forest' ahead of the game.
