The full fixture list for our league campaign is due for publication at 9am on Thursday morning, but even if that seems too far off, a fixture appetiser is coming your way on Wednesday as the draw for the Carling Cup first round takes place.
PNE.com will bring you details of our tie from shortly after 9.30am, which will see us pitted against an unseeded side from the northern section of the draw.
This stage of the competition involved 70 clubs - every side from the Football League excluding Burnley and Hull City - and the draw is split into northern and southern sections, with each side then categorised as being seeded or unseeded.
The line for seedings is drawn midway through the 2009/10 League One table, ensuring that North End fall comfortably within the seeded section of the draw.
PNE have enjoyed three consecutive home draws at this stage of the competiton in recent seasons, but could be drawn home or away to any of the following clubs this time round:

Ties are scheduled to be played in the first midweek slot of the new season, the week commencing Monday 9th August 2010.
If PNE are at home, date and ticket details will be released as soon as possible after the opponents are confirmed.
