PNE are encouraging fans to pop down to Deepdale from 10am today for the popular Open Training Day for what will be a superb summer holiday day out.
Following the success of last summer's free event, which saw several thousand supporters make their way to Deepdale to watch the team being put through their paces, the idea returns for 2010, giving fans a great chance to cast a close eye on their favourite players readying themselves for the new campaign.
Those that head on down to Deepdale can look forward to a full packed day of activities, including:
- A full length first team training session led by Darren Ferguson's coaching team
- Chance to secure autographs from your favourite PNE stars
- Entertainment and music via the big screen and PA system
- Test your skills and win prizes in football-related games
- Your chance to meet popular PNE mascot Deepdale Duck
- Concourse catering and merchandise stalls
- PNE giveaways and prizes
- Club Shop discount of 20% on all items except replica kit
- 'Mini' stadium tours of the Invincibles Pavilion
- Discounts on matchday hospitality bookings
The gates will open at 10am on the day, with training expected to commence around 10.30am. The training session is likely to be concluded around 12.30pm, with activities continuing into the early afternoon to satisfy demand on the day.
Supporters will once again be housed in the Invincibles Pavilion, giving them the chance to view events from our newest spectator facility. Access will be via the turnstiles at the southern end of the stand, adjacent to the Invincibles Pavilion ticket office. Disabled supporters can gain access via gate EX05, which is adjacent to the Invincibles Pavilion ticket office.
PNE marketing manager Adrian Ward commented:
"We found that a summer holiday date proved to be the ideal time to run this event last summer, so we're delighted that manager Darren Ferguson has agreed to alter his schedule and allow us to put on another free day out for our supporters.
"It can often be difficult for parents to keep their children occupied during the long summer break from school - even within the second week when our Open Training Day falls - so we hope that we can put on a suitably entertaining event for everyone who packs into Deepdale.
"We received great feedback from everyone that attended last year's version, and we generally found that the idea received some really positive comments.
"We also picked up on one or two areas we can improve, so we hope we can successfully make those changes to make the day even better for everyone that attends."
Supporters can secure free travel to Deepdale via any Stagecoach bus service in the city, thanks to our Footyrider scheme. Simply show your MyPNE membership card or 2010/11 season ticket to the driver to secure your free travel.
