PNE have swooped to sign Manchester United's Scottish full-back David Gray on a two-year deal.
The Edinburgh born defender has moved to the Lilywhites on a free transfer after his contract at Old Trafford expired this summer.
The 22-year-old has been at United for six years, initially signing as a winger, but his versatility has seen him play in a variety of positions for the Red Devils. Nicknamed 'Greyhound', the Scottish Under-21 international is noted for his bombarding pacey runs from full-back.
Gray's first team experience at Manchester United has been limited to just the one Carling Cup appearance, but the defender has gained first experience during spells at Royal Antwerp and Plymouth Argyle, as well as captaining the Manchester United reserve side.
Speaking exclusively to PNE Player on his arrival, Gray said:
"I have been on loan for the last two seasons and now I have got a permanent move which I think I will enjoy.
"They [Preston North End] have always been a solid Championship side for as long as I can remember. There are great traditions and it is a big Club."
The Scotsman went onto say:
"I am a full back that likes to go forward that likes to go forward is the best way that I can describe myself. I am a right sided full back who can also play wide on the right as well."
