Preston summer signing Wayne Brown is back in training after a frustrating few weeks of injury.

The experienced centre-half returned to full training on Monday and will be aiming to make himself available for next Saturday's big Lancashire derby at Burnley.

Brown joined from Leicester City earlier this summer but has been limited to only a couple of friendly appearances and has been struggling with a hip and calf injuries. Speaking to pne.com Brown said that he was delighted to return after a frustrating time.

"It has been a frustrating time for me because I have had a couple of injuries since I have been here," Brown told the Club's official website.

"It is never nice being injured as a footballer - it is the worst thing about being a footballer. So it was just nice to get back out there with the lads on the training field today.

"I'm just desperate to get back out there on the picth and make an impression."

You can watch a special Q&A session with Wayne Brown exclusively on PNE Player from this Friday.
