Preston North End manager Graham Westley admitted that time has flown by since taking the reins at Deepdale just two weeks ago.
The 43-year-old decision maker has been bombarded with letters and phone calls from well-wishers but he insists his main priority is turning things around on the pitch!
And to do that it is essential that he understands the Club and his players inside out, a process which is still underway.
Speaking to PNE.Com, Westley said: "Time in football flies, you are always going from one game to the next. There never seems to be enough hours in the day for everything you want to do but that's the beauty of it!
"First thing is first, you learn about your Club. Whether that's getting a letter off a fan who's talking about the importance of the job or talking to one of your squad members.
"There's so much to learn, you're like a sponge in the early stages of a job. Rather than imposing yourself too much, you're learning, listening and taking everything in so that you make good decisions when you need to make decisions."
Westley and his team head south-west on Saturday to take on 21st placed Yeovil Town at Huish Park.
The two sides have already met at Deepdale this term resulting in a 4-3 triumph for the Lilywhites thanks to goal from Jamie Proctor, Barry Nicholson and a Neil Mellor brace.
The Lilywhites travel to Somerset on the back of a fine 0-0 draw away to Notts County on Tuesday evening while the Glovers have had a week to prepare since their 3-2 away defeat to Bury.
However, Westley believes the difference in preparation time isn't to be taken into account adding that it's what you do with the time that is important.
"Your training time gets limited but it's up to you to use the travel time to your advantage," said Westley.
"I think that you always make the best of the week to prepare the team as fully as possible.
"Whenever you go Tuesday-Saturday there is always complications, especially with them both being away, but you have got to look at the opportunity which is to get another three points."
Like North End, Saturday's hosts have welcomed a new manager in the form of former Bristol City and Peterborough decision maker Gary Johnson.
It is Johnson's second spell at Huish Park after managing the side between 2001-2005 where he guided the Glovers into the Football League and also raised the FA Trophy with his outfit.
But Westley insists that his own managerial style differs greatly from Johnson's so fans can expect to see two contrasting footballing styles.
Westley continued: "Yeovil Town have got a new manager and any new manager is going to want to make his mark at the Club.
"Gary [Johnson] does it by spreading a lot of confidence into his team and he gives the players freedom to express themselves with the ball.
"Every manager does things differently, I prefer in taking long term measures early on and setting the ground rules out right at the start.
"As I go about my job I focus on the defensive priorities, getting the bedrock of a defensive platform in place, so that we can focus on other things.
"It is two contrasting styles coming up against each other but both managers will be keen to get the three points on offer.
"I think that we have a team here who are in good order in terms of preparations and players who are ready for the job ahead."
