Midfielder Alex Marrow says he is 'delighted' after putting pen to paper on a loan deal that will keep him at Deepdale until the end of the season.
The 22-year-old Crystal Palace loan man is the fourth player to join the Lilywhites since manager Graham Westley arrived at the Club just two weeks ago.
And North End's new number 13 says he can't wait to run out with the lads whether that's against Yeovil Town on Saturday or in the up-coming February fixtures.
Talking exclusively to PNE.Com, Marrow said: "Preston is a great Club and I'm looking forward to playing some games and helping the team push up the table.
"I think there are a lot of Clubs in League One, including Preston, who think they should be in the Championship.
"I'm now looking forward to help Preston get that step closer and get back to where they belong.
"I can't wait to play; there is no better feeling than starting a game! If that comes on Saturday against Yeovil then I'll look forward to it but if not I'll get a good week's training under my belt first.
"I know the quality of League One and I think you have to be very fit to play in it.
"I'm looking forward to playing in some of the upcoming games; I think Sheffield United is one of them which will be a good game."
Some North End fans may remember the midfielder from last season's epic encounter against the Eagles at Deepdale in which the Lilywhites ran out 4-3 winners largely thanks to a Jon Parkin brace.
But for fans who missed the clash against the Londoners, Marrow explains that he can play in a number of positions including central defence.
Marrow continued: "I've played at Deepdale before for Crystal Palace and unfortunately that day Preston won 4-3.
"It was a good game and the fans seemed really good. Everything here seems to be in good order so when I got the chance to come it was an easy decision to make.
"I prefer to play in central midfield and I think most of the managers who I have played under prefer me in that position.
"I have also played at both right back and central defence and I'm more than happy to play there if called upon."
Marrow started his professional career with North End's east-Lancashire rivals Blackburn Rovers in 2008 before moving on a season long loan to League One side Oldham Athletic.
After a successful season long loan with the Latics, Marrow headed south to join Palace on a six month loan deal starting in August 2010.
Making 18 appearances in a range of positions for the Eagles, Marrow signed permanent terms with the Londoners which will keep him at Selhurst Park until 2013.
Now back up north, the midfielder thinks a change of scenery and a run of games could prove to be a good move for both him and North End.
"I'm originally from Manchester so it's closer to home coming to Deepdale. I played for Blackburn Rovers through the youth ranks and spent a couple of professional years there so I know the area quite well.
"I think to be back up north and have a change of scenery is good for me.
"I've enjoyed my time in London, although I have had a few injuries. Anyway I'm here in Preston now looking to get games under my belt.
"I don't know too many of the lads here, only Andreas [Arestidou] who was in the youth team with me at [Blackburn] Rovers.
"But I've been on loan a couple of times before to Oldham and Crystal Palace so I'm sure all the lads will be fine and help me to settle in.
"I think that the injuries I've had have needed me to get a lot of training in, and now that I feel fit I want to get out and play games."
There's no doubt that Marrow's fitness will improve under the training of manager Graham Westley who has highlighted his thinking surrounding cardiovascular endurance.
Although the youngster hasn't been involved in a North End training session yet, he is more than clued-up about what to expect in Lancashire.
Marrow added: "I've heard lots of good things about Graham Westley and about how hard he works in training.
"He [Graham] puts the hours in which is good and I'm sure results will start paying off for him in the long run."
