FA Cup Goal Feasts

Posted on: Tue 09 Nov 2010

PNE v Chelsea

Well, well, well, nobody saw that result coming, did they? It was like the old "corporation bus" scenario, you don't see one for ages, then three turn up at once!

With no goals in the last ten games, striker Jon Parkin chipped in with three of the best.. The obvious questions soon appeared - When was the last time North End scored more than six goals? When did the Club last score seven goals in an FA cup tie?

The fact is that it is 111 years since Preston North End Football Club won 7-0 in the FA Cup. Even that is quite a way down on our list of high scoring games (see list below).

The last time that we scored more than six goals in a game was when we thrashed Cardiff City 9-0 in the last game of the 1965-66 season.
