Welsh international defender Craig Morgan joined Preston last summer from Peterborough United on a four-year deal for a fee in the region of £400,000

The powerful centre back brings a wealth of experience to the North End back four having being capped 23 times by his country, making his debut in a 3-1 home victory over Cyprus in October 2006.

Morgan started his career at Welsh club Wrexham as a youth player in 2002, before moving on to MK Dons three years later. He was loaned back to Wrexham to play first team football briefly, but Peterborough soon recognised his talents, signing him for a nominal fee after a loan in 2007.

He played 116 league games for Peterborough, netting six goals, and his fine form saw former PNE manager Darren Ferguson take him from London Road to Deepdale.

Morgan has worked his way into the plans of current Preston manager Phil Brown, and the 26-year-old defender will be a key player for the Lilywhites as they fight to bounce straight back to Championship.
