Paul Gallagher arrived at Deepdale for a four month loan deal in August 2007 with just minutes to spare before the closure of the transfer window.
The pacy Scottish international opted to try his luck with North End after finding first team chances limited at Blackburn, following the summer arrivals of Maceo Rigters and Roque Santa Cruz, as well as the recent emergence of England under 21 star Matt Derbyshire.
Gallagher's first PNE appearance came as a substitute in the 2-1 defeat at Coventry on September 1st 2007, replacing fellow loanee Andy Carroll at the Ricoh Arena.
Equally at home up front or on either wing, the Glasgow-born playmaker has made 53 first team appearances for his parent club, scoring six goals. A previous loan spell in the Championship with Stoke in 2005/06 yielded 11 goals in 37 games, placing him top of the scoring charts at the Britannia Stadium that season.
