Signed from Crewe Alexandra on a free at the start of the 2007-2008 season, Billy Jones has been a mainstay of the Preston team ever since.
Jones is a tireless right-back, who can play in a variety of positions, including central midfield on a number of occasions last season.
The ex-Crewe man is a wonderful reader of the game, and a strong tackler too. He always provides a huge contribution to the team and this is appreciated by his team mates.
His qualities have been recognised at international level too, where he has captained England up to the U20 side.
Shrewsbury born, Jones has a solid 2009-2010 season, contributing four valuable goals to the cause from defence. He also provided many key crosses on the right hand side, and will look to maintain this consistency through to the new season.
