Preston North End moved quickly to plug the gap in their striking resources during March 2008 by agreeing an emergency loan deal for Watford's Hungarian international forward Tamas Priskin.
The 6'1" striker signed on an initial one-month loan deal, which could potentially be extended until the end of the season. The deal was concluded in time for the new signing to make his debut away at Charlton less than 24 hours later, and he scored his first PNE goal in the 2-1 derby day victory over Burnley.
The 21-year-old was born in Slovakia, but gained Hungarian citizenship in 2005 having come through the ranks at Hungarian top flight outfit Gyori ETO FC. His impressive strike rate of around two goals every five games was enough to catch the Hornets' eye, and arrived at Vicarage Road in the summer of 2006 for an undisclosed fee - in time for their single season in the Premier League.
He has since netted five goals in 35 appearances over the course of the past two seasons, as well as netting an impressive ratio of six goals from 16 caps for his adopted country.
Priskin will wear the number 25 shirt during his initial 28-day stint at Deepdale, which comes to an end after the April 5th trip to QPR.
