Conor McLaughlin was the first out of the current crop of second year youth team players to sign professional terms with North End.
McLaughlin is another of the youth team players to have featured heavily in the reserve side and is a promising young talent at Deepdale.
Born in Northern Ireland, McLaughlin is an attacking full back but has also featured operating further up on the right hand side for the youth team and has even been used as a central midfielder for the reserve team in the past.
The versatile youngster has already gone on to represent his country at youth level, gaining valuable international experience after competing in the Victory Shield at U16s level and winning the U20s Milk Cup.
He has yet to make a first team appearance, but was amongst the substitutes for the League Cup time at home to Spurs in September 2009. It looks like 2010-2011 could be the season where we get to see Conor making his first appearance for the Lilywhites.
