Midfielder Doyle Middleton made North End history at the start of the 2010/11 campaign after becoming the youngest player ever to feature for Preston's first team.
At the age of 16 years and 122 days, Middleton beat the previous record held by namesake Steve Doyle by 45 days when he came on as a second half substitute in the 5-0 Carling Cup first round victory over Paul Simpson's Stockport County.
Middleton was a great find by Club scouts after the youngster was recommended by his P.E. teacher whilst playing for Ainsdale, the club he joined after being involved at Manchester United.
The 17-year old is entering his second year scholarship at the Club but don't be surprised if you see the energetic midfielder sniffing around the first team squad this season.
