Striker Juvhel Tsoumou signed for the Lilywhites in August 2011 from German outfit Alemmania Aachen.
The Congo-born frontman, who moved to Germany at the age of 10, impressed manager Phil Brown during a trial spell over the summer and he believes his game is well-suited to English football.
Despite his foreign roots Juvhel speaks strong English after spending the 2006/07 season with local rivals Blackburn Rovers in their youth system.
The 20-year-old, who has been capped by Germany at U18 and U19 levels, started his professional career at Eintracht Frankfurt between 2008-2010.
Whilst at the Bornheimer Hang stadium, Tsoumou made 29 league appearances scoring five goals, including a fine effort against European giants Byern Munich.
Last term North End's number 11 made six appearances for Bundesliga division two outfit Alemmania Aachen but he failed to find the target.
Juvhel made his debut for the Lilywhites in a 1-1 draw at Glanford Park against Scunthorpe United on 13th August 2011.
