There is a slight twist to North End's pre-season programme today as the Lilywhites face Oldham Athletic in the semi-final of the totesport.com League Cup.

David Unsworth's reserve team reached the last four of the competition last season but were unable to fit the fixture in before the end of the season.

Today though, North End have the chance to progress into the final of the totesport.com League Cup with Leicester City waiting in the final after beating Scunthorpe United 5-0 in the other semi-final.

Preston made it through to the semi-final after finishing top of group two, two points ahead of today's opponents Oldham Athletic.

Included in the squad for today are first year professionals Neil Dougan, Conor McLaughlin, George Miller, Jamie Proctor and Jamie Douglas, who could potentially make his first appearance since last October after tearing his cruciate knee ligament.

Also, transfer listed players Richard Chaplow, Stephen Elliott and Neal Trotman have been included in Unsworth's squad.

Preston North End versus Oldham Athletic will be kicking off at the QED Stadium at 2pm. Admission is £4 for adults with £2 concessions, season ticket holders free upon production of this season or last season's season ticket booklet.
