North End goalkeeper Rachel Murray was rarely troubled in the first half but she looked comfortable when called into action. This confidence was installed into all of the players and they went into half time with a seven goal lead, with McCrea scoring twice and Bailey scoring to complete her brace.

Preston were to show no restraint after the break with Eastwood starting off the second half goal-spree, followed by McCrea who scored her fourth and final of the afternoon after tapping in Bailey's cross.

This was to be one of the last bits of action for McCrea and Bailey who gave way for Craig and Walker. Walker was to be involved straight away after her cross was met by Cadwallader who made it 10-0.

The other substitute, Craig was then in on the action scoring either side of Cadwallader's fourth and fifth goals of the afternoon. Another one of Stammers' substitutes, Cafferkey joined in on the goals before captain Berry headed in Craig's cross at the back post.

Craig made even more of an impact on the game, scoring her second goal after coming on, however she was denied a hat trick after her effort rebounded off of the post.

Nevertheless, it was the other two substitutes, Walker and Cafferkey who rounded off the scoring for North End who bulldozed their way into the semi finals past a hard working and Rangers side.
