Bailey's Summer/Winter Blog

2010.11 Season Tickets

Throughout the summer, North End's Australian youth team player Bailey Wright will be updating us on his progress.

The talented centre-half experienced the highs and lows of professional football towards the end of the last campaign, a place on the bench for the Lilywhites against Coventry was followed by a cruel shoulder injury which ruled him out for the rest of the campaign. But the youngster is recovering well back in his homeland and as his blog reveals he is itching to get back in action.

Saturday 22nd May
Saturday afternoon was my brother's buck night [stag night], we went to an Aussie rules game, what us Aussies call football, the match was between Richmond and Essendon, there was about 16 of my brother's mates out , it was a good night but I would much rather watching real football!

Sunday 23rd May
Sunday I did a bit of training and kicked the football about, really missing training and kicking a football. Sunday afternoon went to the cinemas with a friend, movie was crap but was a pretty good day.

Monday 24th May
Monday I did my regular training set for us youth team players over our break, the programme has been going good and is keeping me fit. In the afternoon I helped my mum move stuff into the place where my brother will be getting married this Saturday to his fiancé Christine, looking forward to the wedding and I am happy for my brother and his soon to be wife. Mondy night sat with dad watching Australia's football team play their last game in Australia before they left for the World Cup, they played New Zealand and won 2-1 but it was a poor standard of game, lets hope they can get it together for the World Cup.

Tuesday 25th May
Tuesday again I did my training programme and went down to my local gym, my shoulder is getting better every day and I am happy with the progress I'm making with it. Tuesday night I went to watch my twin sister Maddison play netball, unfortunately she lost and apparently I'm now a jinx.

Wednesday 26th May
Wednesday dad needed help at work so I went in for the day to help out. I used to work for dad as a labourer for a few months before I moved to England to play football for PNE. It was a good laugh with dad and his two other workers Golby and Buzzer.

Thursday 27th May
Thursday had physio first thing in the morning and my physio Cameron Dunkerley is happy with the progress and the healing of my shoulder, everyday I am doin excercises for it which have really helped. After physio I went down to my local football club Langwarrin again to do some of my training programme, the weather was beautiful! Thursday night I went to the drive in cinema with a mate, we went to see Robbin Hood with aussie actor Russell Crowe in it as the main charactor Robin Hood, it was a good movie and good night.

Friday 28th May
Friday kicked off with some fitness training and then had my brother round making sure we had everything organised with the suits and music for the wedding day. Later that night went to watch Langwarrin's aussie rules club play just around the corner from my house in Baxter, had a lot of my mates playing for Langwarrin and it was a good game.
