St Joseph's Catholic Primary School Pupils To Be Rewarded At Lancashire Derby

23 April 2022

Year 4 and Year 5 pupils from St Joseph's Catholic Primary School will be welcomed to the Lancashire derby at Deepdale against Blackburn Rovers under Preston North End Community and Education Trust's 'Class of the Week' ticketing initiative!

Hundreds of deserving primary school have been invited to home matches at Deepdale this season, having been nominated by school staff as a reward for their achievements in and outside of the classroom.

PNECET delivers the Premier League Primary Stars programme in its partner schools across Preston, inspiring children by utilising the power and appeal of Preston North End and sport as a whole through cross-curricular learning in children's PE lessons.

A number of the Trust's partner schools, as well as other non-partner schools, have been invited to fixtures since the initiative launched in January.

Partner school St Joseph's Catholic Primary School will be the latest school to benefit this evening for the fixture against Blackburn Rovers!

Schools Provision Coordinator Jack Mountain said: "We're delighted to be rewarding pupils from St Joseph's Catholic Primary School to the Blackburn Rovers game at Deepdale.

"As one of our partner schools, we work with St Joseph's pupils every week at their school so it will be fantastic to instead bring some of their pupils to us as they visit Deepdale for what should be a brilliant game.

"The pupils are being rewarded for the way they support and help new pupils settle into school as they regularly show such generosity and kindness."
