PNE Women Holding Open Training Nights In June

9 May 2022

Preston North End Women’s Football Club is hosting open training nights for its women’s first team and junior teams on four dates during June.

PNE Women has teams from U10s up to U16s level, which lead up to a women’s first team at open-age level, with potential for a development squad to follow for the 2022/23 campaign.

There is a direct pathway from the women’s junior sides to the women’s first team with the two clubs having been brought together under one banner by Preston North End Community and Education Trust [PNECET] three years ago.

PNECET supports the women’s team at all levels with staffing, resourcing and logistical support, which includes the provision of match kit and organising training facilities.

The women’s team finished the 2021/22 North West Women’s Regional League Division One North campaign in fourth place.

New players are being sought at both junior and open-age levels for the 2022/23 campaign.

Open training will be held at UCLan Sports Arena on Thursday 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th June for all teams – with the exception of there being no training for U16s on Thursday 9th June – from 6pm until 9pm on each evening.

Open training for U9s to U14s is from 6pm until 7.30pm, while training for U15s, U16s and our first team is from 7.30pm until 9pm.

To register an interest in attending an open training session during June, for yourself or for your child, please email mufreeman@btinternet.com.

Meanwhile, the women’s team is also seeking new coaches for its junior teams, in a voluntary capacity. Candidates must be able to commit to training and matches and hold a Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football with access to their own transport.

In return, PNEWFC provides coaches with support with continued professional development via its Coaches’ Sponsorship Agreement.

Please submit your CV to mufreeman@btinternet.com to be considered for a voluntary coaching role.
