Preston North End have completed the signing of Wycombe centre forward Stuart Beavon for an undisclosed fee
Speaking about the much publicised deal, Beavon said: “I am buzzing, it has been going on quite a while and I am delighted to get the deal done.
“He led the line alone at times last season; he has got a terrific work rate as well as a prolific rate in front of goal.”
“He was our number one choice. He proved himself last year at this level and I am a great believer in signing people who have proved themselves at this level.
“It has been a long wait and we have turned a lot of other options down in order to get to where we are, but patience has been a virtue in this particular instance,” said Westley.
Manager Graham Westley had been very public about his pursuit of the man who scored 25 goals for the Chairboys last season and was delighted to complete the deal for the player who takes the No.29 shirt.
The Club beat the deadline by a matter of minutes as the 28-year-old put pen to paper on a two-year deal at Deepdale.
