Deepdale After making a winning start to the new season, Preston North End will kick-off their 2012/13 League One campaign against Colchester United this weekend at Deepdale.
Saturday’s fixture will be a repeat of the opening league game for North End last season, however the travelling U’s are aware it will be a completely different proposition this time around with a completely different 11 lining up for the hosts.
It has been a unique start to the season with the cup clash coming before the league match, but North End will be hoping that is a good omen with the winning mentality now already installed.
The PNE faithful enjoyed an encouraging performance against the Terriers, with Jack King and Nicky Wroe both scoring their first goals for the Club.
PNE boss Graham Westley will be hoping for more of the same from his squad after Monday night’s comprehensive 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town in the Capital One Cup.
Midfielder Joel Byrom is also expected to return from injury, but striker Lee Trundle will definitely miss out.
Visitors Colchester, who lost their opening game in the Capital One Cup at Yeovil will likely feature former Republic of Ireland striker Clinton Morrison in their squad.

The U’s
Just over 12 months ago, United ran out 4-2 winners at Deepdale in the opening game of the 2011/12 season.
But a lot has changed at North End since that game, and the U’s will be looking for an immediate response following their early exit from the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night.
Finishing tenth last season, Ward has drafted in striking duo Clinton Morrison and Freddie Sears whilst also persuading Magnus Okuonghae to sign a three-year deal.
The Essex side will be looking to push on yet again this season and will be looking to break into the top six.
