PNE Face Eagles

15 August 2012

Preston North End will face Crystal Palace at Deepdale in the second round of the Capital One Cup.

The Lilywhites were first out of the hat in the live Sky Sports Draw meaning they will face Championship opposition at home for the second consecutive round.

North End convincingly saw off the challenge of Huddersfield Town on Monday evening 2-0, courtesy of first half goals from Jack King and Nicky Wroe.

Palace, now managed by their former striker Dougie Freeman, will provide another stern test for PNE but a challenge Graham Westley's side will be more than up for.

PNE boss Graham Westley said: “It is always good to be at home in the cup, It is great to have drawn another Championship side, we were established in that division for a number of years and we are aspiring to get back to that level. It is a good draw all round and we are looking forward to the test.”

The tie will take place the week commencing the 27th August, with date, kick-off time and ticket prices yet to be confirmed.

But remember, North End have three important League One fixtures before Eagles fly up north to Lancashire, and you can purchase tickets now for the home match against Colchester United plus the away double header against Shrewsbury Town and AFC Bournemouth right now via the Club shop or by calling 0844 856 1966
