Alexander And Lucketti Join Fleetwood

6 December 2012

North End’s youth duo Graham Alexander and Chris Lucketti have joined Fleetwood Town as the club’s new management duo.

The former Lilywhites defenders took over the youth set up at Deepdale in summer, following Grezza’s retirement from playing at the end of last season.

However, the Club was approached by Cod Army chairman Andy Pilley for permission to speak to them about the vacant hot seat at Highbury, following Micky Mellon’s sacking last weekend.

A Club spokesman said: “We would not want to stand in the way of two players who have given fantastic service to Preston North End, both as players and now as coaches.

“We were approached by the Fleetwood chairman to ask permission to speak to Graham and we of course gave him the courtesy of informing him of this. Graham said he would like the opportunity to talk to them and has agreed to join as manager. He asked for permission to take Chris with him, as his number two, and again we were happy to see two great servants of the Club get this chance at first team level.”

Nick Harrison will take charge of the Lilywhites’ U18s game away at Blackpool this weekend, whilst the Club makes steps to fill the vacancies left by the two departures.

Preston North End would like to thank Graham and Chris for their many years of service and wish them every success in their new challenge.
